Selain bistik isi keju, ada juga menu steak lainnya yang bisa dipilih, misalnya Oishii steak khas dan andalan steak di tempat ini. Ciri khasnya tenderloin disajikan dengan telur mata sapi, bisa setengah matang atau matang dan saus yang khusus.

Sushi, very simple dish

Etika Sushi

Beberapa tahun belakangan ini, restoran yang menyajikan Sushi makin berjamur di Jakarta. Penyukanya pun tidak sedikit. Di jam-jam makan, antrean pengunjung sudah memanjang di beberapa gerai sushi terkemuka. Di Jakarta, kita bisa saja menemukan restoran sushi di mal yang kesannya cukup santai dan kita pun memakannya dengan santai. Padahal ada beberapa aturan yang seharusnya berlaku saat menyantap makanan dari negeri asalnya. Mau tahu?

Mengucapkan "Itadaki masu!"
Kalimat itadaki masu (itada ki mas) sama seperti mengucapkan, "Makanannya terlihat enak!" atau, "Selamat makan!". Jika di sekitar Anda ada orang Jepang, dan Anda mengatakan kalimat ini sebelum makan sushi, maka mereka akan sangat menghargai Anda.

Jangan menuang minuman sendiri
Biasanya, orang Jepang akan mengkonsumsi makanan Jepang sambil ditemani minuman Kirin, Asahi, atau Sapporo. Untuk hal yang satu ini, mereka sangat mengagungkan kebersamaan dan saling berbagi. Varieties of Dim Sum? Yummy

Red Wine Protect Heart

Does red Wine protect against heart disease? Maybe. Many studies investigated the benefits of red wine suggested that moderate amount of red wine (one drink a day for women and two drinks a day for men) lowers the risk of heart attack for people in middle age by ~ 30 to 50 percent. It is also suggested that alcohol such as red wine may prevent additional heart attacks if you have already suffered from one. Other studies also indicated that red wine can raise HDL cholesterol (the Good cholesterol) and prevent LDL cholesterol (the Bad cholesterol) from forming. Red wine may help prevent blood clots and reduce the blood vessel damage caused by fat deposits. Indeed, studies showed that people from the Mediterranean region who regularly drank red wine have lower risks of heart disease

What's in Red Wine that are good for heart?
Red wine is a particularly rich source of antioxidants flavonoid phenolics, so many studies to uncover a cause for red wine's effects have focused on its phenolic constituents, particularly resveratrol and the flavonoids. Resveratrol, found in grape skins and seeds, increases HDL cholesterol and prevent blood clotting. Flavonoids, on the other hand, exhibit antioxidant properties helping prevent blood clots and plaques formation in arteries.

Should I start drinking more red wine now?
The answer is No. Studies showed that alcohol drinking may increase triglycerides (another Bad blood lipids) and result in weight gain due to its empty calories. Samudra Dim Sum

Samudra sudah punya nama beken, khususnya untuk Dim Sum di akhir pekan. Popularitas Samudra membuatnya harus buka cabang di beberapa lokasi. Sekarang ada satu di Jakarta Pusat, dan dua di Jakarta Barat. Semula bahkan pernah mempunyai cabang di Kuningan Plaza, tetapi sudah lama tutup. Tempatnya sekarang dipakai oleh Decanter Wine House. Dari ketiga gerai, yang terbesar dan terlengkap (full fledged restaurant dan Dim Sum adalah yang di BRI II Center Park. Dua lainnya lebih fokus pada sajian suki atau steamboat.

Dim Sum di Samudra memang dapat diandalkan. Harganya relatif terjangkau (Rp 13-21 ribu), dan rasa maupun mutunya boleh diacungi jempol. Pada saat-saat ramai – sarapan di akhir pekan dan saat-saat makan siang – kereta-kereta berisi kukusan Dim Sum hilir-mudik menghampiri meja-meja tamu. Begitu juga kereta yang berisi dim sum goreng dan panggang. What you see what you get! Tinggal pilih mana yang cocok, dan pindahlah porsi-porsi itu ke meja. Pada jam-jam sepi, Dim Sum dapat dipesan dari kartu menu.

Selain Dim Sum, Samudra juga menawarkan berbagai masakan Tionghoa, khususnya olahan seafood. Salah satu yang populer adalah kerapu macan kukus (Rp 48 ribu per 100 gram). Mak nyuss!

Masakan kepiting yang populer di sini adalah kepiting a la Singapura (mirip saus padang, rasa asam pedas, Rp 12.600 per 100 gram). Sedangkan masakan udang yang banyak dipesan adalah udang mabuk bakar (porsi kecil Rp 124 ribu). Terus terang, saya tidak pernah tega memesan hidangan yang satu ini.

Untuk menarik tamu datang makan malam – mengingat restoran ini lebih ramai pada saat makan siang karena adanya gedung tinggi perkantoran di dekatnya – pada malam hari diselenggarakan buffet dinner dengan harga Rp 115.000 per orang (tidak termasuk minum). Ini hanya ada di flagship Samudra yang berlokasi di BRI II. Sebetulnya, istilah buffet dinner di sini kurang tepat karena 80 item makanannya harus dipesan (antara lain: sop jagung, udang mayones, kepiting Singapura, sapi lada hitam, dan lain-lain). Lebih tepatnya disebut all you can eat.

Yang sungguh saya sayangkan di restoran ini adalah bahwa di daftar menunya masih tercantum kerapu tikus (dijual hidup) di daftar menunya. Padahal, restoran sebesar Samudra mestinya tahu bahwa jenis ikan ini sudah dilindungi karena sudah mencapai tingkat kelangkaan. (Bondan Winarno - detikfood)

Sate Klatak

Ketika berkunjung dan bermalam di Yogyakarta, maka siapa pun tidak ada salahnya mengisi makan malam dengan menyantap Sate klatak, yakni Sate kambing khas Pasar Jejeran, Wonokromo, Pleret, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Di pasar itu ada beberapa warung Sate klatak yang buka mulai sore hingga malam.

Sate klatak yang dijajakan di pasar yang terletak sekitar 12 km arah selatan Yogyakarta ini berbeda dengan Sate kambing pada umumnya. Sate klatak tidak dibaluri bumbu sebagaimana Sate kambing pada umumnya.

Jika Sate kambing pada umumnya dibaluri ramuan bumbu ketimbar, kemiri, asam, dan garam, agar aromanya menggugah selera, maka tidak demikian dengan Sate klatak. Sate Kkatak hanya diberi garam, sehingga terasa asin dan gurih.

Selain bumbu yang membedakan Sate klatak dengan Sate kambing lain adalah irisan daging, daging Sate klatak diiris sebesar ibu jari orang dewasa dan ditusuk dengan besi jeruji sepeda, bukan bilah bambu.

Irisan daging yang ditusuk besi jeruji dibaluri bumbu garam itu langsung dibakar di atas bara.

Setelah dibakar beberapa saat dan matang, Sate klatak disajikan di atas piring masih dengan ditusuk besi jeruji sepeda. Pembeli harus berhati-hati ketika menggingit daging, agar bibir tidak menyentuh besi yang masih panas.

Satu porsi Sate klatak berisi dua tusuk irisan daging yang cukup besar dan tebal. Meskipun irisan daging cukup besar dan tebal, tetapi rasanya empuk.

Dalam penyajian, Sate klatak biasa ditemeni sepiring nasi dan segelas teh panas yang diberi gula batu. Anda tak perlu merogoh uang terlalu dalam, harga satu porsi Sate klatak dan nasi sekitar Rp. 8.000,- dan minimnya Rp. 2000,-

Untuk bisa menikmati Sate klatak, pembeli harus sabar menunggu karena hampir setiap malam warung Sate klatak dipadati pembeli. Pada malam minggu, atau malam hari libur, pembeli yang ingin menikamati kekhasan Sate klatak lebih banyak sehingga harus sabar menunggu giliran.

Mengenai asal usul nama Sate klatak, ada beberapa versi yang berkembang. Ada yang mengatakan klatak adalah kiasan dari suara yang muncul ketika daging ditusuk besi jeruji dan dibakar di atas bara. Namun, secara pati tidak diketahui begaimana asal usul Sate klatak hingga bisa diberi nama “klatak”.

Meskipun asal usul nama Sate klatak terdiri atas beberapa versi, namun Sate kambing itu memiliki kekahasan yang asama, yakni daging diiris tebal dan besar, diberi “bumbu garam”, ditusuk dengan besi jeruji sepeda, dibakar di atas bara, dan disajikan masih dengan besi jeruji.

Kekahsan Sate klatak itu hanya dapat dinikmati di Pasar Jejeran Yogyakarta. Berwisata kuliner di Yogyakarta terasa masih kurang lengkap jika tidak menikmati kekahsan Sate klatak. (Dito Kirmantoro SMA N 5 Yogyakarta - belajar sejarah)

Mencicipi Dim Sum di Kirin

Kirin Seafood Restaurant di New Westminster mungkin adalah restoran Cina terbaik mencari yang berfungsi Dim Sum. Desain interior sangat modern. Ruang makan besar, memiliki langit-langit tinggi, dan ada ruang tunggu bagi Anda untuk menunggu kursi Anda. Dan kejutan, mereka memiliki toilet yang sangat bagus! Selalu ada pujian ekstra untuk kamar kecil yang bagus di sebuah restoran Cina.

Mereka memiliki pilihan yang baik hidangan Dim Sum yang juga termasuk cukup beberapa yang vegetarian. Semakin pelayan yang ramah, tetapi manajer (yang dengan sesuai) yang tidak terlalu penuh perhatian. Sulit untuk mendapatkan perhatian mereka kadang-kadang. Dan itu adalah manajer yang menangani tagihan Anda, saya menunggu 10 menit baik untuk membayar terakhir kali aku berada di sana. Itu terlalu lama bagi saya, jadi saya memutuskan untuk menyimpan 5% dari tips saya. Berbicara tentang tagihan, mereka Dim Sum rata-rata $ 3,50 - $ 4,00 per piring. Benar-benar mahal untuk Dim Sum.
